I can't help myself. I am a deep sea diver, not content with what lies on the surface, always keen to investigate and enquire until I feel satisfied that I have got to the very bottom of things.
As mentioned in my "About" page, I have a keen interest in astrology. I fell into it in earnest more than 20 years ago after meeting a magnificent woman who had spent years working for the Social Services in The Hague supporting delinquent youth find pathways back to education, back to well matched vocations and literally back to themselves.
So inspired by astrology's hidden insights I began to study it in earnest finding it beautifully synchronised to my own innate nature of going beyond, literally into Space, to understand and make sense of the Self.
I have Scorpio as my Rising sign, or as some call it, my Ascendent, which indicates that I have insghtful perception of all things that lie beneath. The original symbol (another quiet obsession of mine) of Scorpio was the Eagle. The Eagle is reknown for its sharp vision. It sees from afar its prey and then once spied hones in with speed and accuracy.
Scorpio often gets a bad rap. You mention you are a Scorpio and often people will recoil. They have a reputation of being destructive, overly interested in sex or the occult. They are often seen as being the most dangerous or difficult of signs.
In truth they are simply extremely perceptive and often see beyond the veil we call reality.
So with that in mind much of this blog will follow my natural instinct to record my interests, (which again are very varied), from this perspective; from the forensic investigator of life that I am.
Add to that the fact that my Anthropological studies also were essentially an in depth study of what makes people tick across cultures, my focus in teaching was to dig deep and find out how to best support children with learning difficulties, then that I am a great 'reader" of signs, symbols, believe nothing happens by chance and have my ear keenly tuned to the 'whispers' of life and you have a typical Scorpio Rising attempting to make good of her probe and disturb qualities!
